The Office Party

Oh yeah...we are having an office party. Its really an office dinner. With Secret Santa exchanges...how fun. This year I will probably regift a spa certificate from last year. Since the gift should be 20 bucks and the certificate is for 50 I am sure the recipient will be happy. Thank God that's done. I am getting so lazy with these things. I remember going out of my way to research what to give. One year I bought edible underwear as a gag gift for my co-worker, and that was actually funny. However, with all our staff turnover and their increasing numbers, it is more difficult to know people that well.

Hopefully we will be able to arrange a dinner with just our core group of people and their spouses. We hardly ever see each others spouses anymore, as the events that we go to for work don't allow them. I miss those days, and so does H. My plan is to get us all into going out like that every few months. I think it will help us appreciate each other more. Its difficult to arrange good venues and times.

Currently I hardly see my partners during the work day, as HELLPIT has been a flurry of crises. I have been running late chronically, and spending time just putting out fires. I am getting better at delegating. I even bought a really cool coffee maker for my room. I need to buy chocolate powder for my coffee; its the only thing that can take the edge off and stop me from grinding my teeth all day......
